Hoo-Rag Bandanas for Active People – Review and Giveaway

The Hoo-Rag is a seamless bandana that can be worn in a variety of ways by both men and women. I received several Hoo-Rag bandanas to review and share with you here on my blog.

  • Features: Lightweight and compact to add to your daypack
  • Versatile uses: Headband, beanie, neck wrap, balaclava, pirate-style cap
  • Variety of Choices: Fun styles and prints…even custom if you want
  • Fit: Stretchy but snug enough to stay in place. Comfortable one size fits all.
  • Where we used our Hoo-Rags: Snowboarding, mountain biking, construction, hiking, around the house
  • Value: $14.95

My men tested out their own Hoo-rag and found it functioned well as a balaclava for snowboarding because it is thin enough to fit under their helmets. They also used it as a neck wrap when they went mountain biking, keeping them warm but not hot.

I used mine as a beanie and as a headband…loved the feel of it on my head as it kept my hair up out of my face and my ears warm on the chilly days. The Hoo-Rag is just a fun item that is functional but stylish too. I threw it in with my regular laundry and hung it to dry which didn’t take too long. I imagine this summer I will be wetting it to wear on the hot dusty trail to keep my head cool and shaded from the sun. My Hoo-Rag is the Groovy-Hoo just in case you like the print.

I really liked the how-to video on the Hoo-Rag website since it showed me how to actually fold, twist, and manipulate the Hoo-Rag into the various accessories.Take a look and see just how to make those cool beanies and pirate rags.

Would you like a chance to win a Hoo-Rag? I have one of the Sunflower Power print Hoo-Rags to give to one lucky person. See the Rafflecopter widget below for ways to enter and giveaway details. Winner will be drawn at random and announced Monday, January 28, 2013.

  1. I would wear it as a head- or neckband.

  2. Hoo-rag is just fun to say. And you, of course, look adorable in yours!

My hair is short enough not to get in my way but I’d wear it working outside, etc.

  3. (Attempt three). I would use this under my horseback riding helmet! When I’m done with my ride, my hair won’t be a knotted mess!

  4. I have big hair, but don’t always like to wear it in a ponytail or braid. The Hoo-Rag would be great for gardening or hiking, as an alternative to ponytail or braid. And it’s very cute, besides. Who doesn’t like cute?

    😉

  5. Great idea! Seems a little easier to manipulate than a bandana.

  6. Love your blog. The hoo-rag sounds neat. MelanieB

  7. Looks so cute and fun to wear!… I’d probably use it while working outside in the garden, or exercising…

  8. Got to admit, I would go pirate style a lot. When I fight my way into the normal bandana my family knows mom is in cleaning mode. Sometimes though I just want a easy way to keep my hair out of my face, cute is a nice option without everyone thinking I am now going to tackle the bathrooms.

  9. It has such a great name! Who WOULDN’T want to wear a Hoo-Rag? 🙂

  10. would love to try it. sounds great for this summer.

  11. how fun, i think my daughters would love these

  12. Probably as a balaclava or headband . . . how versatile!

  13. This looks like a great addition to any outdoor activity. With my long hair, it would come in very handy. Great idea.

  14. Very cool. The hoo-rag sounds like a great idea! I’m always amazed at the things people come up with. It makes me say, “why didn’t I think of that?”

  15. I would probably wear it as a headband or in some way as a head covering. I already wear a bandana on “bad hair days” and this looks like it might stay on well and give me a slightly different look.

  16. I’d wear it as a beanie – or down on my ears to keep the wind out!

  17. It would be great to wear while walking, doing yoga or yard work.

  18. I would wear it on my head like a headscarf, which I do most days, due to “bad hair days”. 😉

  19. I would wear it while I clean our chicken coop or just to sass up a plain t-shirt.

  20. I’d probably wear it as a headband.

  21. My favorite style is the Cocoa Bloomz. I like the Sunflower too, though.

  22. What a neat idea…would love this product! What a great idea for nature hiking!
Thanks for hosting the give away.

  23. It would be great for gardening or hiking!

  24. I would wear it while working outside in the summer to stay cool and in the winter to stay warm!!

  25. What a great idea. I have long hair and can keep most of it out of my face except for all the pesky new growth hairs that aren’t long enough to be kept back. It would be great to be able to keep them out of the way while gardening or exercising!

  26. I was just thinking as I was walking in from the barn this morning that I need to figure out some way to keep my hair out of my face this spring/summer when I start working in the garden. My hair is too short to go into a ponytail but long enough to get into my face. One of these would be perfect!

  27. If I could keep it away from my daughters I would use it like a headband to keep my hair back when working in the garden!

  28. Oh, yes! I have long in-my-face hair and would so love one for our long hikes!

  29. I would wear it working around the house.
