December 2014 – Transition to Winter

Please read the following explanation outlining how to get this month’s newsletter.

The newsletter link is not in this email but will come separately.

If you don’t receive the separate email with the download link, you probably aren’t subscribed to the blog yet. This will take less than a minute to do if you follow the steps below.

If you are a subscriber and you haven’t received your newsletter email yet, check your SPAM inbox. Some subscribers have found the email buried in SPAM inbox.

If you need to subscribe:

  • You will need to go to the Handbook of Nature Study, look to the top right corner for the box to type in your preferred email address, and then confirm the email that comes to your email inbox.
  • Once you subscribe, you will receive a thank you email from me with the download link.

This month’s newsletter link will be available only during the month of December so be sure to download it before 12/31/14.

Remember! All of the archived and current newsletters are available as part of the Ultimate Naturalist Library…every level!

Contents of this edition of the newsletter include:

  • 5 awesome articles that will give you some ideas for winter time nature study: tree phenology, hemlock trees, winter nature study ideas, animal adaptations, and bear hibernation.
  • December planning page printable
  • December Nature Journal Toppers
  • January preschool nature table ideas, printables, and coloring page

Please note that Ultimate Naturalist and Journey level members have access to members only printables each month in addition to the newsletter printables. You will need to log into your account and then go to the “Other Releases” section.

  1. I received the email that brought me to this post. However, I didn’t receive the newsletter in my regular or spam folders even though it said it was already mailed. When I tried to enter my name into the “Never Miss Email Updates or Challenges” box above it says that I’m already subscribed. Not sure what’s happening.

    1. Me too. Was the email sent yet? Thank you!

      1. Yes, it was sent yesterday. Make sure to check your spam or junk mail inboxes.

    2. Hi Ann…just checking to see if you eventually received the newsletter link.

  2. I purchased the Discovery level in order to receive the getting started challenges. Nothing is in my inbox or spam folder. Please help, not sure what to do.

    1. You need to log into your membership and then it is all there for you. From the website, you can click the “members area” link at the top of the page.

  3. Another thing to be aware of- I always receive the link for the newsletter, but I receive it hours after the link for this sort of “intro” for it comes in my inbox. So I guess sometimes for some of us they don’t arrive at the same time. When I do get it, its in my inbox but later on in the day.

    1. Thanks for the tip!

  4. Ann, mine was in my “promotions” folder in gmail. If you’re not in gmail, check your spam folder – same thing happened to me and I had to hunt around for it. Worth the effort – thank you!!

  5. I agree with Ann. I never did receive the newsletter link.

    Thanks,
    Sarah

  6. Hi Barb,

I just got the newsletter link. The funny thing was that it was not at the top of my inbox. It was down farther and had yesterday’s date on it. So, maybe it got hung up somewhere along the line.

    Thanks,
    Sarah

    1. Not sure why there is a delay…just grateful that you did eventually receive the link. 🙂

  7. I have not received the link either. I checked my spam folder and it is not there. What is the subject line for that letter?

  8. Hello Barb…since several months ago, it seemed that I have never received newsletter anymore..I have checked my spam folder, still I haven’t received any. Any solution? Thanks!

    1. I went ahead and deleted your subscription and then resubscribed. You will need to confirm the email that comes to your inbox and that should get you the newsletter and emails.
