November 2014 – Fall Seeds

If you need to subscribe:
- You will need to go to the Handbook of Nature Study, look to the top right corner for the box to type in your preferred email address, and then confirm the email that comes to your email inbox.
- Once you subscribe, you will receive a thank you email from me with the download link.
This month’s newsletter link will be available only during the month of November so be sure to download it before 11/30/14.

Good morning
I would like to incorporate your Nature Study lessons into my homeschool curriculum – here in Australia. Do you have other Australian homeschools registered; is the content adequate for middle school; and is it enough for an Australian Nature Study course or can be easily adapted to suit?

There are a number of families from Australia that use the Outdoor Hour Challenge. Many of the challenges include “advanced study” options that bump the nature study up to at least middle school level. We used them in our family for high school. As far as content, you will many times have to adapt the challenges to your native plants but they will at least get you started with a topic and then outside looking for things you have to observe.
