The Icky Bug Alphabet book
is a great way to introduce your little ones to insects without overwhelming them. This book has clear illustrations with simple text that will appeal to even young school age children.

You know I want this book, Barb. I have 3 little ones–7, 5, and 2. My 5 and 2 year olds still read board books. And our family *loves* bugs. We are always looking for new books to incorporate bugs into our days. 🙂

I love exploring nature with my little four year old girl, but recently she is the one teaching me all about the insects she is finding. She explains every time how beautiful they are, she loves bugs! I’m sure she would love to learn more with the help of a book!

My (almost) 2 year old was stung by a bee a couple of weeks ago, and is now terrified of any and all insects and bugs. We have been trying to talk about things like ants, ladybugs, and flies as she encounters them, but I think something like this book would be a much less scary thing for her.
