I thought we would line up these two challenges this week as many of us prepare to participate in the Great Backyard Bird Count. I realize that the Winter Wednesday challenge is out of order but it just seems to make sense.We will do winter insects next week.

we read chapter 8 in _discover nature in winter_ and then went outside to see what birds were around this afternoon. we saw more than i thought we would.

How fun! We are only in day two of our bird count and we’ve learned so much. To see the joy and excitment my children have over studying winter birds makes me so happy. I’m linking up this week to cover 7 &8.

We saw many more birds when we had snow so I included a few of our snow observations too.
I posted some photos of the birds we’ve been enjoying at our feeders as well as the homeschooling/learning we did with a recent 8″+ snowfall that happened during the bird count.
This was so much fun!! My son and I both thoroughly enjoyed observing and photographing birds this week!!
